Minneapolis Central Library Author Reading
Is it really almost August? Again, thanks to all who’ve been kind enough to read and respond to “Redemption’s Run.” I’m looking forward to meeting some of you at the Minneapolis Central Library author reading and discussion on Wed. Aug. 2 at 6 PM. It’s free, but please register at www.startribune.com/redemptionsrun so we know how many folks to plan for. It’s been a busy summer! Thanks to everyone at Star Tribune, TPT’s Almanac, Press Publications and the Hennepin County Library system for helping to support the book.
There still is room for students in grades 6-12 to sign up for the Shire Literary Center’s Summer Intensive Creative Writing Sampler in Stillwater, MN. Classes run July 31-August 4 (fiction, nonfiction) and August 7-11 (screenplays, drama, poetry) at St. Croix Preparatory Academy, 4260 Stagecoach Trail N., Stillwater, MN. I’ll be presenting sessions on drama August 7-11. For more information, contact theshireonline.com/summer-2016. (Yes, I know the year is wrong, but just roll with it!)
Last weekend was a beautiful time up in Bayfield, WI, riding bikes on Madeline Island and digging Paul Cebar in concert. It was great meeting staff at the Bayfield Carnegie Library, a fabulous facility for book lovers. What are some of your favorite summer reads? I’m always looking for suggestions.
